You have to assume he was just one of those sulky won’t be told types, who’s there own worst enemy. Loved watching him, you always new he could create something from nothing. Remember his free kick at Blackburn away in the cup, the second it left his foot I shouted out that’s in.

Shame it glosses over the sudden about turn from Payet. There must be more to it than ‘boredom’. The bloke played his way into the French team and became a national hero on the back of his performances in the Premier. Something about his situation brought out something World Class in him.

Just fucking off back to France after giving it 5 months doesn’t really ring true to me. He slagged off Bilic at the time, shame it doesn’t shed more light on any football related matters. He never maintained the level he achieved with West Ham and hadn’t achieved that level previously, so giving that up so suddenly is mysterious
